TNT Tonight

Jasper Speaks:

Tonight went pretty well. I had help preparing today from my friends on the YS Message Boards. My friend Jeff put a basic Power Point presentation together for me and I modified it and used it tonight. It was pretty good!

Worship this week was much better than last. Although our regular pianist is in Raleigh for the summer and our backup who usually plays the keyboards plays things slower. Technically she is very good and does a great job. She is a better overall pianist than our regular girl but she does play pretty slow. Bit compared to last week. This week was Grammy Award calibar!

It was nice to see a couple of guys who haven't been around for awhile. One is a PK whom I know has been rebelious and has gotten arrested in the past few months. He isn't one of our pstor's kids but his dad is a pastor and the kid has had it rough for the last little while. It was good to see him but man, you could tell a lot of his joy is just sapped away. He was always such a funny guy but he just had very hallow looking eyes tonight. If you think about it pray for him.

The other guy is a kid who I am not sure where he stands with Christ. He has only been three or four times but he is a good guy. I was told tonight that he joined the Marines and will be leaving in a few weeks. Please pray for his safety as well.

We actually had a pretty large group. Close to fifty. It has been awhile since we had that many there. The sixth graders have started coming but this week there were only four of them there. Everyone else was a regular. Many just decided to come all at once. I could still name several regulars who weren't there.

Tomorrow I have a lot of errands to run during the day. I am taking one of our seniors with me. Should be fun. He is a kid that although I have been his Youth Pastor for four years, I don't know very well. He will leave in the fall to go to Bible College in New York. He is pretty pumped so I am looking forward to spending some time with him tomorrow.

Tomorrow evening I am having a Guy's Night In with my small group. Kendra is going to do some research for work in Bar Harbor and spending the night, so we are going to do a men only night. We will eat too much food and watch too many movies mostly. Should be a good time. I love bonding with kids.

It has been a stressful week for Mission Trip Planning as transportation was the huge issue at hand. But that is better now. We just have to raise $12,800 in the next six weeks. God can do it I am sure! Should be an awesome trip. I can't wait.

Please do keep our trip as well as the two guys I mentioned earlier in your prayers. God is going to do incredible things! Thanks for your rememberances!
