Jasper Speaks:

So, I think that I have had a little too much time off school. Yesterday was the longest day! Today I am giving a test to my Honor Students and doing a movie/review so maybe today won't be so bad.

Reality Check went well last night. It was awesome when we all got together and prayed at the end. I really appreciated being able to pray with Kendra and Jon and Kevin. It was very moving as we all shared our struggles with one another. I appreciated the honesty that was evident there.

It is another GLORIOUS weather day today. I drove here and was driving right into the sun most of the way. I almost complained and then thought, "No way! This is INCREDIBL:E! The sun warms the earth! Go sun! Shine big! It's your birthday!" Okay so maybe it is not the sun's birthday but I am still really glad it is shinning and it is supposed to be in the upper fifties again today. It was forty degrees when I left the house this morning. That is like quadruple what it was this time last week! Go God!

I am really pumped about this summer. I think that a bunch of us from Kendra's family are going to Mount Rushmore. Kendra's grandmother lived in Sturggis and so she has been there many times but it is one of the eight or so states I have not yet been able to visit so I am looking forward to it. I also think that mission trip is going to be pretty much incredible. If you haven't gotten information and signed up for that yet, you need to REAL bad! I love doing mission trips. I have been on one every summer since like 1996, so I must think they are pretty rad.

I was thinking about and praying for my kids from Maine who are serving in Ecuador for a couple of weeks right now. I am very proud of them. It is awesome to see them let God use them in such a dynamic way! Go gang!

I am off to do my answer key for the Honor's Test. I know. Your jealous you can't have this much fun!

Jasper Speaks:

SUNSHINE DAY! It has been BEA-utiful for the past few days and I am loving it. On Saturday when it snowed --- AGAIN, I was down and blue but in the afternoon the wonderful sound of MELTING was everywhere. The only sound I love more is Kendra's laugh!!! It is supposed to be 60 degrees today. BRING ON SPRING! I am loving it! Snow bad --- Sun good!

Of course the heat is still on maximum in my classroom and so it is 117 degrees in there but I won't complain because Mr. Sun has made a GLORIOUS appearance and I am hap -- hap -- happy!

Kevin Cude is a crack up. Who sleeps too much!

Victor is speaking at Reality Check tonight. The past few times he has spoken something has come up that makes it impossible for me not to be there. So you may not want to count on me for tonight.

I had a WONDERFUL time with my mom and dad yesterday! We talked for a long time and then my mom showed me a diary of her great grandmother who had grown up in Vermont but was living in Chicago in 1875. She traveled back to Vermont to visit family for five months and kept a really interesting diary of her trip. It was way cool to read and great to spend time with the folks. I do so love them!

American Idol was disappointing last night. I thought the contestants were supposed to be able to sing. Maybe I am just confused. They said Simon was being way too harsh but I think he was right on. It was just awful.

I guess it is pretty sad that I even care about American Idol. Tuesday used to be the best night of television all week. Idol, followed by Amazing Race and ending with Law and Order: SVU. Those are probably my three favorite shows on TV. I would network hop and be so happy. I wish they would move Amazing Race back to Tuesdays. It is so frustrating when CBS preempts it for dumb things like Golf. Although I do dig me some House so when it follows Idol I will be happy! I like being happy. Happy is good!

I have been praying that God would improve my attitude. I am trying to really think about the GREAT things he gives me in life; a wonderful wife and family, a job that pays the bills, great friends, a great church and student ministry. He is way too good for me to complain! Be happy!

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. Philippians 4:12

Jasper Speaks:

I have finally caught up on all my grading. Our professional development day turned into "stay in your room and do what you need to" day. I resisted the urge to go over the wall early and graded journals (oh so tedious!) all day long. I also entered my grades into the computer and just have one more class to enter and I will be done. I may procrastinate on that until tomorrow. No reason to go completely out of character in one day.

I dropped off our modem and stuff to the evil Charter Communications today. I also paid the bill. There were still some lingering issues so as much as I would like to say paying the bill (that we shouldn't of had to pay in the first place) will get them out of our lives forever. I am not completely optimistic.

I missed Kevin and Andy at small group last night but Jon and Jeff and I (J-cubed?) had a really good discussion. I LOVE SMALL GROUP!

I am on my way to see my Mom. It has been awhile and I miss them bunches. Dad was sick over the weekend so I want to check and make sure everything is okay. I love my Moma and Daddy!

Jasper Speaks:

So, it has been a pretty uneventful weekend which is good. we had date night on Friday and saw Music and Lyrics and had Outback for dinner. The movie was just okay. The dinner was way more extravagant that we would ever usually go. Someone gave us a big gift certificate and we spent it all in one setting. Mmmmm steak and lobster.

Saturday we FINALLY cleaned the house and ten helped Lynda move some. Then Michele and Dennis came over for dinner. We all went to the rocking new Family Bookstore by our house (because I had a 50% off coupon). We played spades until really late. It was tres fun!

Sunday was church which is always good and then lunch with Jessi. I bought three "replacement" movies on dvd that we already had on video but love and watch enough to make the switch. Then went to the gym and then napped at home for awhile. Then we watched the premier of Amazing Race all-stars which was, well, amazing of course.

Today we are off school (I love the Presidents) and I went tot he gym, then had lunch with Kendra and had a planning meeting with Jeff, Jeff, and Victor for the upcoming months of Reality Check. I can't wait for small group. Should be tons of fun!

Tomorrow we have no students at school. Not sure what we are going to do. I hope to leave early if possible. Only nineteen days to spring break. But hey, who's counting.
