Jasper Speaks:

The funeral is over. It was a beautiful service. The message was ... odd. I wanted to jump up and say, "the theological opinions expressed by the speaker do not necessarily represent the theology of the family". Other than that it was sweet and special. My Uncle Harold touched my heart the most. I have such a great amount of love and respect for him. Tracy was amazing on the piano! It was the second hardest day of my life only behind the day I watched her die. It is hard to believe that I will never her see her in this life again. She was the most amazingly Christlike person I have ever known and quite possibly may be the most Christlike person I will EVER know. I was such a Mama's boy. Now I am a Mama's boy without a Mama. It feels so bad. I am now part of a club that I never wanted to be part of. "The Kids Without Moms Club". God has been wonderful and granted us peace but there is still such a hollow feeling where she is forever missing from my world.

When I Must Leave You
by Helen Steiner Rice
(A favorite poet of Donna’s)

When I must leave you for a little while,

Please do not grieve and shed wild tears,

And hug your sorrow to you through the years,

But start out bravely with a gallant smile.

And for my sake and in my name,

Live on and do all things the same.

Feed not your loneliness on empty days,

But fill each waking hour in useful ways.

Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer,

And I in turn will comfort you and hold you near.
And never, never be afraid to die,

For I am waiting for you in the sky

Jasper Speaks:

I am at the church office this morning trying to get some things settled for D-Now. Can't believe that the viewing is tomorrow and the funeral for mom is so close. I am doing pretty well, although I got a bit chocked up a couple of times on the phone with my friend Ann from college. Being sick has been a great distraction for me.

It is all still a haze but I am sure it will all become far too real in the days ahead. Thanks for your prayers and concerns.

Here are some pictures we found as we are getting things together for mom's service.

Yeah I am the little guy in the front. It was old fashion night at the revival! Woot!

This is the best picture of my mom and Jackson. I miss her so much!
